Anonymising a Document (Tasks)

How to replace sensitive or deal-specific information in a document with placeholders.

Written by Shreya

Anonymise scans the document for sensitive or deal-specific information, lets you select which categories to anonymise, and replaces every instance across the document with bracketed placeholders.

How to Use

  1. Open the document you want to anonymise.

  2. Go to Tasks in the bottom toolbar and select Anonymise.

  3. Select the categories of information you want to anonymise.

  4. Click Run.

The Task finds every instance of the selected categories across the document and replaces them with placeholders in one run.

When to Use It

Two common cases.

Before sharing externally: strip client names, deal-specific details, and other sensitive information from a document before circulating it outside the firm.

Building a reusable template: convert a completed agreement into a template by replacing all deal-specific values with placeholders, so it can be reused for future matters.
